Kyle A. Smith (they, she, he) is a trans and disabled playwright and dramaturg whose work has been seen and developed at Queens Theatre, T.H.I.N.K. at The Tank, Fresh Binder Productions, UCNJ, Adelphi University, Kansas University, Outtabounds Productions, No Frills Theatre, Transformation Theatre, and more. They were the recipient of the Tisch School of the Arts Fellowship at NYU; have been an honorable mention for B Street Comedies Festival and Rise Against Fanaticism Through The Arts Prize, have been a Finalist for the O’Neill Theatre Conference and Dramatists Guild Fellowship; a Semi-Finalist for Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries and the Baltic Writers’ Residency, and shortlisted for Wild Imaginings New Epiphanies Festival among others. Her play The Part of Me received its world premiere with Madlab Theatre in March 2020, days before the world shut down. The Part of Me was also a Princess Grace Finalist, Bay Area Playwrights Festival Semi-Finalist, Theatre503 prize longlist, had an excerpt performed at Graeae Theatre, and has a monologue published in Smith and Kraus’ best monologues from 2020. Kyle is Brooklyn based, agender, bisexual, bipolar, dyslexic, autistic, and frankly has too many parts of themselves to keep track of. They have a lovely cat, toddler, and spouse.
