Kyle A. Smith (they, she, he) is a trans and disabled playwright and dramaturg whose work has been seen and developed at The Graeae Theatre Company, Queens Theatre, T.H.I.N.K. at The Tank, Fresh Binder Productions, UCNJ, Adelphi University, Kansas University, Outtabounds Productions, No Frills Theatre, Sohaya Visions, Transformation Theatre, and more. They were the recipient of the Tisch School of the Arts Fellowship at NYU; have been shortlisted for the Dramatists Guild Fellowship, the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Residency, and Rise Against Fanaticism Through the Arts Prize; and long-listed for the O’Neill Theatre Conference, Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries, Baltic Writer’s Residency, and Cell Residency among others. Her play The Part of Me received its world premiere with Madlab Theatre in March 2020, days before the world shut down. The Part of Me was also a Princess Grace Finalist, Bay Area Playwrights Festival Semi-finalist, Theatre503 prize long list, and has a monologue published in Smith and Kraus’ best monologues from 2020.
